Curbishleys training sessions must have been enlightening.
He had some quality under him... he had no excuse unlike the arrogant Allardyce dyce..
Allardyce for me.. Proper cunt..

LOU never stood a chance.. but he is responsible for signing players that would become WHU stalwarts
Miklosko
Bishop
Allen
Morley

He wasn't given a fair crack IMO

Re: West Ham's Worst Manager
Mr Moyes and his team are doing a sterling job.. fittest I've seen a WHU side for decades.
it's the team as a collective which is working.. I like Irvine a lot.. reckon we are lucky to have him.
Pearce and Nolan get amongst the players and solid role models.

moyes worst ever manager?.. have a word.
He'll end up being one the best.. you'll see.

Lou Macari seems to be the forgotten manager of the lot.
Strange appointment but always comes over a decent bloke.

Re: West Ham's Worst Manager
This deserves to be linked to the anxiety/depression post.

Such a sad continuous cycle of shit managers considering we were once proudly known for the least amount of managers and stuck by them, through bad and the rare glorious times.

Pellegrini does not deserve to be in there. He was not here long enough, he did not relegate us, if not for sticking with Roberto and the major fuck ups he made, he would most probably still be here.

Stats say Moyes in his 2 periods.

Otherwise Zola. Fucking crazy appointment.

Most abhorrent - Allardyce
Most pitiful - Moyes
Most laughable - Grant/Zola

Zola wins it for me tough, the absolute shit I witnessed home and away under that grinning mong was a different level, even by our standards. Although when his smile finally faded and he started resembling a seasoned laboratory chimpanzee, it felt like sweet revenge.

He still had more self respect than Moyes though.

Re: West Ham's Worst Manager
Avram Grant without doubt. The football played was awful and there was a sense of inevitable relegation almost from the word go.
Furthermore his body language was terrible and there was a pall over the club throughout his tenure.
Pellegrini was poor considering the players at his disposal, but god knows what was going on behind the scenes.
While some of the football Allardyce had us playing was dull, he did what he had to do and got us up to the Premiership in one season and kept us there.
The biggest let-down was Curbishley. Considering he'd been linked with us for years, was 'one of us', and had done well with Charlton, the football his teams played was average and he didn't look like he was really enjoying his homecoming (with good reason it turns out).
Truly depressing remembering some of the dross we've had leading us.

Re: West Ham's Worst Manager
Grant or Moyes

Think Grant just edges it.......but thats probably only after the last 2 games

On paper Moyes' team pisses all over what Grant had. Our only decent players were Parker and Upson.......maybe Noble and Tomkins too

For Moyes to have a similar win record as ol Avram is shocking

You may not like him, but he's no way our worst manager. Not even close.

Re: West Ham's Worst Manager
Allardyce, for all of his many flaws (he was never really a "West Ham" manager), is nowhere near our worst manager.

On paper, his record was decent: promotion, generally stabilised us back in the Premier League etc.

The problem, as we know, is that football is not played on paper - and watching his sides was like watching a deadly car crash in slow motion while sitting in Row A. Which is ironic because, most of the time, the ball ended up in row Z.

Re: West Ham's Worst Manager
Without a shadow of a doubt Avram Grant.

I considered suing him under the Trades Descriptions Act.

Roeder was deeply incompetent, too, as we all know. But in his (small) favour was his first season (top seven finish) and the fact that, belatedly, he woke up to some of his failings in the second half of the relegation season - like spotting the fact that we had no full-backs. So he signed Brevett, recalled Johnson from loan and we, almost, avoided relegation.

Had Brevett and Johnson been our full-backs for the whole of that season, we'd have stayed up - I'm convinced of that.

So it's Grant above Roeder as the most incompetent. Grant had absolutely NOTHING in his favour. Utterly incompetent, utterly devoid of ideas, inspiration, ability, management and character.

Re: West Ham's Worst Manager
I don’t think Billic did give us our best season since 86 personally. Think Pardew’s cup final season tops it, think it’s the last time I actually liked the club as well.

Re: West Ham's Worst Manager
For me it's a play-off between Roeder, Grant and Allardyce, and obviously for different reasons. Allardyce had us playing anti-football and knows no other way, while Grant was only here because of his religion rather than his talent.
But when it comes to Roeder, he was simply pathetic. I can't see him managing his way out of a paper bag and it was no surprise to me that he sent us down despite the talent. I suppose his only defence was the amount of points we went down with. But worst of all was the way the feeble cunt used to stand ineffectualy on the touchline throughout every game without making any impact whatsoever. The guy was just pathetic.

Roeder; Grant; Alardyce/Moyes (Moyes I think is a clone of Alardyce) all stunk out the office once graced by Greenwood and Lyall (Even if Moyes has only occupied rented space at the Olympic Park!)

How about an honorary mention for Syd King. 30 years our manager, won fuck all (got to one FA Cup Final and lost).
Sacked, then a month later topped himself.

Roeder was not a manager - That decision sits with the board!

FMOB I would have thought every decision when employing a manager sat with the board!

Him and Grant were both fucking awful.
